This is a great neighborhood with a lot of history! Just down the street to the right of the Country Store, there is a dark wood house with a bell. This is the late Jim Morrison’s house. The current owner has preserved many things from those times, including a shower downstairs with notes from women all over the shower wall with things like “I love you Jim!” scrawled haphazardly. This house was built in 1922 and was one of the original 10 settlement houses. The wealthy Angelenos in the 1920’s used these homes in the neighborhood as summer homes and hunting lodges.
This home has quite a history, which I am currently researching. Previously it was featured on the cover of HOME magazine (I believe the focus was the upstairs bathroom). Previous owners include an (original) Charlie’s Angel, and an actor from the Soap Opera Young and the Restless (those were just the last two!)

Need to kill some time before check in? Stock up on groceries at Trader Joes a few lights down at 8000 Sunset Blvd. You will also find a Starbucks there, CB2, Veggie Grill, Pinkberry, Movie theatre, Crunch Fitness, Sushi Dan and Burke Williams Day Spa.
Please strip the beds and put all linens and towels on the floors at the base of the beds. Please leave no more than two loads of laundry when you depart (in the dryer is fine if you are in a hurry). We are charged about $25 per hour for laundry services (so do the math on how costly it can be). You will be billed for excess laundry.
If you used an insta-bed or futon, please return to its proper position or storage bag (deflated). If you have rearranged furniture in any way, please replace it to its original position. Please place all of your used dishes in the dishwasher and run it. The garbage disposal switch is located over the sink on the right. Future guests appreciate condiments and unused items that do not perish quickly. But please do not leave doggie bags, leftovers on plates, opened juice or milk, etc. Trash needs to be removed and placed in the trash bins on street level. Please turn off electricity/heat/ air on your way out and place the keys in the pre-designated place. Thank You.
